The American corporation we’ve partnered with specializes in selling recreational vehicles (RVs), recreational vehicle parts, and recreational vehicle service. They also sell camping supplies for a comprehensive selection of everything you need for outdoor adventure seekers.

The Need

This recreational vehicle company ships golf carts to stores across the Southeast and Northeast U.S. Being a recreational vehicle seller, they sell these golf carts to people who use them to drive around campground sites.

The customer reached out to us after having issues finding trucks to deliver to their stores, as many of them have no docks. Most of the loads need to be unloaded on the ground, which cause a variety of safety and efficiency requirements. We stepped in, called all of their stores, and created custom shipping plans dependent on which stores had docks and which did not.

This company was using full step decks with ramps before we stepped in, which were way too big for the size of equipment they were moving, and were therefore wildly overpaying on their freight. We came in to resolve this issue and offer a more cost-effective method.

The Solution

We use box trucks to deliver golf carts to their stores that have docks, and flatbed hotshots with ramps to their stores that don't have docks. 

Hotshot trucking is the transport of small, time-sensitive LTL loads within a specific timeframe, usually to a single customer or location. Hotshot loads are typically delivered by medium-duty trucks pulling flatbed trailers, or in this case, a mix of flatbeds and box trucks.

The client appreciated our efforts to go above and beyond for them by calling all of their stores, figuring out the dock specifications for the deliveries, and bringing custom equipment accordingly to provide the best, most cost-effective mode.
